Jewelry Care

ENVIDAS’ Fashion jewelry line varies with Brass Base or 925 Sterling Silver with a thick layer of 18k gold plating.

How to care for your gold plated jewelry

Always keep your jewelry in the separate pouch or box it came in. This storage method helps prevent your pieces from rubbing against each other, which can cause dullness and loss of shine. When not in use, store your jewelry in a cool, dry place, away from water. Avoid leaving it in the bathroom, as humidity is a primary factor in tarnishing and dulling jewelry. Additionally, gently clean your jewelry once a month with a soft, non-abrasive cloth to remove dust and grease buildup from regular wear, ensuring it maintains its shine and vibrant gold color.

Chemicals found in products such as sunscreen, hairspray, perfume, body oils, and deodorant can harm gold-plated  jewelry, initiating a corrosion process that may result in darkening and dullness over time. To ensure your jewelry remains in its best possible condition and last longer,  make it a habit to put it on as the final step of your dressing routine. Avoid wearing your jewelry in the shower, swimming or saunas as exposure to water will tarnish your jewelry.

How to clean your gold plated jewelry

Brass Base with gold plating – avoid any exposure to water. Regularly clean your jewelry using a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Gently wipe the surface to eliminate any grease and dirt that may accumulate from frequent wear. This practice will help preserve the shine and vibrant gold color of your pieces.

Sterling Silver 925 base with gold plating – You may mix gentle soap with warm water n a bowl, use a soft toothbrush to gently clean then wipe excess with damp cloth. Do not soak jewelry or this will cause tarnishing.
